The course is self-guided videos so you can go through the content as fast or slow as you want. Each child goes through the content at their own pace but the child will mostly likely master the concepts before kindergarten if you start as early or earlier than 4 years old. The curriculum mirrors the same curriculum used in the Montessori preschool class and generally takes the child 2-3 years to go from the pre-reading activities to reading books independently.
How long do I have access to the course?
You get lifelong access! You will always be able to access the course with your unique login on my website.
How do I know if my child is ready to read?
It is important that you look for signs of readiness rather than age. You will learn about what signs to look for to know if your child is ready to learn their letters and ready to read in the course. Check out my FREE reading readiness guide for more info
The content is mostly in video form so you can choose to listen to it. For some of the lesson presentations you will want to watch to be able to see how to present a lesson to the child.
What age is this course for?
A child's reading readiness is not based on age but rather developmental readiness and preparation. We generally see that most children are ready between ages 2-5 to start reading. The course starts with pre-reading activities to help prepare the child to read. The first course can be started as early as 2 years old. The curriculum is very similar to the curriculum used in a Montessori preschool classroom ages 3-6 years old.
Can this course teach reading in other languages?
Unfortunately because every language is written very differently, my course is only made to teach english reading. Although the principles can be applied to a different language I cannot guarantee that it would be helpful to teach reading in another language.
How do you teach sight words?
New science of reading research discourages teaching children to memorize whole words as it is not efficient. We have a few words in the english language that do not follow english rules we call these puzzle words. Instead of having the child memorize them we teach the child to sound it out the best they can and teach them the alternative sounds it uses.
Does your course align with the science of reading?
Yes!! The Montessori method has always aligned with the science of reading by providing explicit instructions, phonics learning, phonemic awareness activities and more.
What language should I teach my bilingual child to read in?
This is your choice as a parent but my suggestion is to start with the language that they are most comfortable with or the language which will be used most where you live. After your child has learned to read in one language they can pick up others fairly quickly if they have the same alphabet. If your child is reading the main language of the country in school then consider focusing on the other language at home.
Does the course require you to buy anything else?
Nope! Everything you need is included in course including: printables, decodable readers, and learning activities. There are optional materials you can purchase if you chose to but it is not necessary!
What reading level will this course go through?
The principles taught in this course will teach a child to read up to a 1st grade reading level.
Do you have a Satisfaction Guarantee?

Do you have a payment plan?
